TEK28 - transverse section

TEK 28 is an innovative roofing element, realized by connection of a metal thin sheet with a coating of high density expanded polyurethane. Insulating coating, which goes along the corrugation in a symmetrical way, allows to have an insulated product, which can be at the same time integrated to Alubel 28 system, today’s most trusted and widely used roofing system.

TEK 28 eliminates risks of dents normally caused on “naked” sheets and, therefore, helps bearing in case of maintenance.

Noise reduction

Significant reduction of noise coming from direct impact (in contrast with noises transmitted by air), which can be easily transmitted to underlying premises and, therefore, increase of housing comfort.

Condensation effect reduction

During winter, TEK 28 preserves thermal insulation dry, sweeping away any condensation phenomenon; during summer, it wastes heat filtered through roofing coating. TEK 28 prevents direct contact between steam and “naked” sheet, limiting condensation appearance.

Hail damages reduction

TEK 28 reduces “hail effect”, i.e. dents caused by strong atmospheric rainfall.

Heat ventilated roof effect

Constant and solid air circulation removes heat transmitted by coating roofing, saving underlying layers from overheating.Polyurethane layer on the inner surface reduces transmission of heat sheet to the inside of ventilation layer, increasing and strengthening insulation performances.

Galvanic couples elimination

Galvanic couples appearance, often in case of underlying metal roof framework , is prevented by polyurethane presence, which creates an out-and-out barrier on metal sheet inner surface.

Heat ventilated roof effect

	Without polyurethane Further advantages about TEK 28 use can be obtained by planning a ventilated roofing packet. Benefits from heat ventilated roof effect. A roof can be called ventilated when roofing blanket can be separated from insulation layer, creating an interspace which allows a smooth airflow to circulate from eaves to ridge capping. It is necessary to remember that interspace should not be smaller than 5/6 cm and with good slope. Constant and thick air circulation takes away heat transmitted by roofing blanket, preserving from overheating the underlying layers. It is well-known that metal sheet exposed to sunbeams on roofing becomes overheated even twice of the value of temperature itself. For example, in summer if outside temperature is 30°, roofing sheet can reach even 60° or more, particularly if it is dark painted. This means that, with a ventilated roofing packet, air temperature on interspace feels the effects of sheet high temperature. This phenomenon surely reduces benefits of ventilated roofing.

	With polyurethane TEK 28 use, which is composed of a layer of high density polyurethane, allows to reduce thermal change inside ventilation interspace and, consequently, allows insulated layer to give results definitely better. This is a significant advantage to create a better housing comfort. Substantially TEK 28 significantly prevents from transmission of heating absorbed by sheet inside ventilated interspace. Ventilation increases and makes stronger features of insulating material, expelling therefore heat from ridge capping. Picture below shows section of a correct roofing packet, where it has been considered the right solution for above mentioned problems.
