Cigs – New technology with thin film

“CIGS” is the most promising photovoltaic technology, composed of Copper, Indium, Gallium and Selenium. These four materials makes potential performances of CIGS higher than any other thin film. CIGS, in fact, produces more electricity  of the same quantity of light, if compared to other thin film and therefore its has a high “ conversion efficiency".

 Efficiency CIGS conversion is extremely constant in time; this means that performances remain unchanged for many years.  Copper Indium Diselenide (CulnSe2) has an extremely capability of absorbing solar spectre that allow it to use 99% of light already on the fisrt micron of material. This factor makes him an excellent and effective photovoltaic material. Moreover, adding a little quantity of Gallium to CulnSe2 you can cover the whole solar spectre, which brings it  near to the maximum possible absorption of solar radiations, increasing consequently tension and efficiency of photovoltaic cell.
